Sample interview questions: Describe any experience you have had in managing government documents collections that include legislative or regulatory materials.
Sample answer:
In my previous role as Government Documents Librarian at the State Library of California, I was responsible for managing an extensive collection of legislative and regulatory materials, including:
- State statutes and regulations
- Federal statutes and regulations
- Administrative codes
- Legislative histories
- Committee reports
- Hearings
- Debates
I developed and implemented a comprehensive plan for the acquisition, organization, preservation, and access to these materials. I worked closely with state and federal agencies to ensure that the library received all relevant documents in a timely manner. I also established a system for cataloging and indexing these materials to make them easily accessible to researchers.
